After the widespread speculations of Google working on android wearables, Google has confirmed the launch of two of it's flagship grade android wear devices running android wear 2.0.

In an exclusive interview with The Verge, Jeff Chang, Product manager of Android Wear at Google confirmed that Google will be launching two new flagship smartwatches in the first quarter of the next year. According to Chang the new watches will be the flagship Android Wear 2.0 devices and will be the first ones to launch with the new platform.Chang says that after Google’s flagship watches launch, other partners will release new devices with Android Wear 2.0 throughout 2017. The devices won't sport a Google or Pixel  branding but instead would be branded by the manufacturing company launching them whose names have not yet been revealed. The existing android wear will get updated with Android Wear 2.0 following the launch of the new smartwatches though not all the existing devices would be upgraded to the latest version owing to hardware limitations. The company is putting commendable efforts to promote the android wearable segment in times of shrinking smartwatch markets
