Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 2017 phones prices leaked



Samsung Galaxy A (2017) smartphones ahead of the launch, have been spotted on a pre-order poster which reveals the prices of the upcoming devices.

The Galaxy A5 will be priced at RM1,699, about $378, while the Galaxy A7 is priced at RM1,899, about $424.With any purchase there is free Level U PRO wireless headphones which otherwise costs 399 RM or about $89. The phones, are expected to be officially announced on January 5 in Kuala Lumpur.

The new Galaxy A series is likely to be water-resistant,with more powerful hardware, better cameras. Samsung Malaysia on its Twitter page teased “‘A’nticipate the new A,” with the hashtag #A2017liveunplanned. CES 2017 is also scheduled to begin from January 5

The smartphone is rumoured to feature a 5.2-inch FHD display,expected to be powered by an octa-core Exynos 7880 chipset, with 3GB of RAM 

32GB of internal storage.3000 mAh battery. The leak also hints at Galaxy A5 packing a 16MP cameras on the front and the rear.

Nintendo,after launching Super Mario Run for iOS earlier this month which gained lot of popularity and topped the most downloaded game on the App Store around the world,is now up for Pre-Registration on Google Play Store. Users can pre-register and they will notified when the game is out.There is no information on when the game will actually be available for download.

Motorola Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus Finally Gets Android 7.0 Nougat Update


There were reports that Motorola has begun soak testing the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus Nougat update back in October this year,and now the update has officially started to rolling out to Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus.Nougat update is currently hitting units in India. Build number-NPJ25.93-11,along with Android version 7.0 with November 1 security update.The update is being rolled out in batches, so it may take time before your device gets it.


With Nougat update you will get exclusive features such 
1. Quick switch between apps – Double tapping on the overview/ recent apps button will allow users to switch between two most recently used apps.
2. Multi-window view – This will allow two apps to run side by side. Now you will be able to text a friend while watching a video side by side on your screen.
3. Work Mode – This new feature allows users to turn off the phone’s work apps when not at your work, making for a balanced work-life balance.

LeEco and Coolpad launched the Cool1 in India

LeEco and Coolpad today launched the Cool1 in India in a collaboration.The phone was launched back in august in China, is now officially launched in India with price tag of INR 13,999 ($205).Cool 1 is the first smartphone to come out under the Coolpad branding after the company’s acquisition by LeEco earlier this year. The smartphones is Amazon exclusive, with open sale starting January 5. 


For the specification the Cool 1 features 5.5-inch FullHD IPS display, which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 Soc. It comes in two variants – 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/32GB storage. 
It sports a dual-rear camera setup (13MP + 13MP)with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, a dual-tone LED flash and can record 4K videos. 
8MP front facing shooter,with f/2.2 aperture and a wide 80-degree lens.
4000 mAh battery, with USB Type-C port and Quick Charge 2.0 support

The 4GB RAM/32GB storage version will be available online, but the 3GB RAM/32GB ROM version will only available through offline stores.Color options includes Gold and Silver Gold.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 will ‘Come Into Focus’ at CES 2017

Qualcomm will unveil its upcoming Snapdragon 835 processor next week at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Qualcomm on its Twitter page teased its upcoming Snapdragon 835 processor.

Snapdragon 835 would be made with Samsung’s 10-nanometer FinFET process, with the support for Quick Charge 4 technology, more smaller processor provides better efficiency for batteries and will be more power efficient than past Snapdragon chips. it is rumored to sport a octa-core chipset with a clock speed of 2.2GHz with Adreno 540 GPU which is 30 percent faster than the current Adreno 530 chip.

Gionee launches M2017 with 7000mAh battery capacity, priced at CNY 6,999 ($1,010)

Gionee launched it’s premium range M2017 handset in China. The handset is priced at CNY 6,999 approximately Rs 68,400 which is unlike Gionee, better known for it’s disruptive pricing.  Another variant of the device with Italian custom alligator leather back panel has also been released at CNY 16,999 (roughly Rs 1,66,000). It has not yet been revealed whether the phone would be launched in other markets or will be exclusive to China. People seem to be loving the product as Gionee’s website already lists the phone as ‘Fully booked’.

                The highlight of the phone is it’s battery capacity. With two 3,500 mAh batteries, the phone is loaded with a humongous 7,000 mAh battery capacity along with Quick Charge 3.0. Other specs include a Snapdragon 653 SoC, a 5.7 inch 2560 x 1440 display coupled with 6GB RAM. The phone comes in 128GB and 256GB storage variants with no expandable memory. The phone seems to be following Apple’s lead as the 3.5mm audio jack seems to be missing. The phone comes with a  dual rear camera (12MP + 13MP) and an 8MP front shooter. Gionee M2017 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Amigo UI on top and sports a Fingerprint scanner in the front.

                In the absence of any news regarding it’s availability in other regions, one has to wait to see whether the phone will be available in India or not.

Motorola Moto X Play gets Security updates and stability improvements


Motorola Moto X Play gets Android Security update and stability improvements.
The update Includes the Android security patches until October 1st 2016 and Includes bugs fixes and improves device stability.

Two weeks back Moto X Play running Android Nougat was spotted on GFXbench running Android Nougat version 7.1, meaning handset is likely to receive the Nougat update pretty soon.

Cyanogen to shut down its service and nightly builds on December 31, 2016



Cyanogen Inc. today has announced that "all services and Cyanogen-supported nightly builds" will be shut down by December 31st. Cyanogen 
aimed to build a better version of Android, but did not receive the proper response of the OEMs because they didn’t want to ditch the Google's Android. Few months back OnePlus also ditched the Cyanogen after the OnePlus One.

        Cyanogen announced the shut down in a blog post, 
As part of the ongoing consolidation of Cyanogen, all services and Cyanogen-supported nightly builds will be discontinued no later than 12/31/16. The open source project and source code will remain available for anyone who wants to build CyanogenMod personally.

Motorola Moto X Style running Android Nougat 7.1.1 has been spotted on GFXbench

Back in October this year, Motorola had listed 15 phones that will get the Android Nougat update in the coming months. The company said that the Moto Z and Moto G (4th Gen) will be getting the update first.Two weeks back the Moto X Play running Android Nougat was spotted on GFXbench running Android Nougat version 7.1, now the Moto X Style with Android 7.1.1 has been spotted on the benchmarking website as well

Google confirms the launch of two of it's flagship Android Wear devices


After the widespread speculations of Google working on android wearables, Google has confirmed the launch of two of it's flagship grade android wear devices running android wear 2.0.

In an exclusive interview with The Verge, Jeff Chang, Product manager of Android Wear at Google confirmed that Google will be launching two new flagship smartwatches in the first quarter of the next year. According to Chang the new watches will be the flagship Android Wear 2.0 devices and will be the first ones to launch with the new platform.Chang says that after Google’s flagship watches launch, other partners will release new devices with Android Wear 2.0 throughout 2017. The devices won't sport a Google or Pixel  branding but instead would be branded by the manufacturing company launching them whose names have not yet been revealed.The existing android wear will get updated with Android Wear 2.0 following the launch of the new smartwatches though not all the existing devices would be upgraded to the latest version owing to hardware limitations. The company is putting commendable efforts to promote the android wearable segment in times of shrinking smartwatch markets

Pokémon Go is now available on the Apple Watch

Back in September at Apple's iPhone event, Niantic announced Pokémon Go for the apple watch, is now officially for the Apple Watch. 
           You can simply catch Pokemon with a simple tap on Apple Watch and collect goodies from PokeStops, but you will still require your IPhone which will connect to your Apple Watch.Each gameplay session will show you the distance you've traveled to hatching an egg or receiving Candy for Buddy Pokemon in activity rings.

Whatsapp may soon let users edit or revoke sent messages

Think of the times when you hit the send button on Whatsapp only to realize that the message was addressed to the wrong person. Been there. Well, there's a good news, reports suggest that Whatsapp is working on a new feature which enables a user to edit or revoke sent messages. The feature can be accessed by long pressing the sent message. Though the feature would be available only on messages which have not been read by the recipient, should be enough to save us from all the embarrassment and regrets.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 to Launch in India in January

Xiaomi is launching its Redmi Note 4 in India, in January 2017. Redmi Note 4 is the successor of popular Redmi Note 3, which was the bestselling device for the company in India.As seen with the earlier launched Redmi smartphones, the upcoming Redmi Note 4 will also come with a Snapdragon processor as Xiaomi cannot use MediaTek processor in india.Xiaomi is banned to use MediaTek powered smartphones in India after the launch

Nokia P leaks render a flagship device with Snapdragon 835 and whopping 6GB RAM




The smartphone giant Nokia is all set to make a comeback in the year 2017 with it’s new range of android powered devices. Numerous android powered Nokia phones are expected to hit the markets by early 2017  with announcements expected to be made at the MWC(Mobile World Congress) 2017. These devices are reported to be  unveiled as early as February 2017.

Earlier there were rumours about a budget level smartphone by Nokia labelled ‘Nokia D1C’ to be priced around ₹10,000 with two variants running Snapdragon 430 chipset with 1080p screens.

          The latest leak offers a glimpse of a flagship level device,  ‘Nokia P’ with a Snapdragon 835 chipset bundled with 6GB RAM. The device is expected to have Nokia pure view  camera with Zeiss lens. Rumours suggest 256GB storage and an AMOLED display.

The phone is not expected to be a flagship killer but aims at competing with the likes of Galaxy S8 and iPhone8.The users are expecting a lot from Nokia in the coming years with hopes that Nokia lives up to their expectations.

TWRP Launches it's official app on Google Play Store




TWRP recovery(Team Win Recovery Project), a widely used custom recovery among android power users gets an official app on Google Play Store. If you’ve been flashing custom roms, patches, mods on your device you probably know what TWRP is and for those who don’t, TWRP is used for flashing custom roms, manual updates in zip format and backing up and restoring roms.

The official app allows users to check updates of newer version images and if available can be downloaded and installed on your smartphone. For rooted devices the users can download new image and flash it to the recovery partition and flash downloaded boot images to the boot partitions.

Though the app is in beta stage and users may encounter some bugs but it certainly is better since updates can be accessed through an official app on the Google Play Store.

Lenovo has launched K6 Note smartphone in India and is priced at INR 13,999 ($205) and will be available for purchase through offline stores starting December 17

Nova Launcher turns 5, gets exciting new features!



Nova launcher, one of the most popular third party launchers in existence for android powered devices celebrates it’s 5 year anniversary with a major update. The launcher now being  5 years old, the developers rolled out an update labelled ‘5.0’ .
