Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 gets Android Nougat update

Xiaomi has started pushing out nougat update to its Redmi Note with MIUI version 8.5 (global), the update which is sized -- 1.3GB comes also with Android security patches for July.The update is being rolled out in batches, so it may take time before your device gets it.

The Redmi Note 4 was launched in India earlier in the year in three variants: 2GB RAM with 32GB storage for INR 9,999 ($146), 3GB RAM with 32GB storage for INR 10,999 ($161), and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage for INR 12,999 ($190).

As for the specs:Redmi Note 4 is powered by a Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor comes with a clock speed of 2GHz and coupled with Adreno 506 GPU.

Google's Android O Developer Preview Out Now:Top Features You Should Know

Google released the developer preview for the next version of android which is codenamed
'Android O' which of course won't be the official name for the upcoming Android version. Though a complete note on what to expect from the next version of Android is currently unavailable but the crux here is to address an issue which has been longing since ages i.e. a better battery life.

The company claims to accomplish the aforementioned by aggressively controlling what apps can do in background. As Android VP of engineering, Dave Burke, puts it: “We've put additional automatic limits on what apps can do in the background, in three main areas: implicit broadcasts, background services, and location updates.” other changes include changes in the notification system in android where apps can group their notifications into categories called 'channels', which boils down to the fact that you'll be able to segregate the high priority notifications from the low priority ones.

            Apart from an improvement in battery life, the new update also aims at improving sound quality on wireless devices with “high-quality Bluetooth audio codecs,” as well as Sony’s LDAC codec. Other changes include:

• A genuine picture-in-picture mode for videos

• A new pop-up window that apps can use instead of the system alert window 

• “Multi-display support for launching an activity on a remote display,” which could refer to something like a PowerPoint presentation mode or a Continuum-style Android-on-the-desktop mode.

• Better keyboard navigation

• Wide-gamut color for apps

• Support for third-party calling apps

• App optimizations and WebView enhancements

Whatsapp Bringing Back The Old Text Status

With the launch of  it's new 'Stories' *ahem* sorry, the 'Status' feature where users could put up photos and videos as their statuses which would disappear after 24 hours, the former text based status feature was suspended. Though the new feature was appealing to the younger audience, not all took it very well and while users have been very vocal about their disappointments, Whatsapp has themselves come out in the open and acknowledged that Whatsapp Status is not what they thought it would be. 
           To please the irked users Whatsapp is bringing back it's text based status feature, as seen in the latest android beta version which bumps the version up to 2.17.95.
The new feature will be available in the 'Settings' option under 'Profile' head of the app once the update is rolled out for all the users.

Nokia on Sunday At MWC 2017 announced there three new phones for the global market which was Nokia 3,5 and 6 . Fonearena have spoken with Ajey Mehta, India VP at HMD Global and he revealed that devices will be manufactured in Foxconn in India from day one.The phones will be sold in offline stores and online as well. After-sales support will be handled by HMD.
